This policy covers the website benahmed.education. Each of our applications has a privacy policy of its own, and that is the complete account of what the application collects:

This policy does not cover information collected offline, or by another company whose service we use or link to. The ones we rely on are named below, and their own policies govern what they hold.

Consent

By using our website, you consent to this Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.

Information we collect

The personal information that you are asked to provide, and the reasons why you are asked to provide it, will be made clear to you at the point we ask you to provide it.

If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, phone number, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide.

When you create an account on this website we ask for your first and last name, your telephone number, and the school level and stream you study — the last so that we can show you the right curriculum. A teacher is also asked which subject they teach. Your email address comes from the Google account you sign in with. We do not ask for a postal address.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect in various ways, including to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain our website
• Improve, personalize, and expand our website
• Understand and analyze how you use our website
• Develop new products, services, features, and functionality
• Communicate with you about your account — customer service, and messages about the service itself, such as confirming a payment or a deletion you asked for by email
• Tell you by email about our own offers, if you hold an account on this website. Nothing any of our applications collects is used for this, and your address is never passed to anyone else
• Find and prevent fraud

Payments

Stars and subscriptions bought on this website are paid through Chargily, by Edahabia or CIB card. You enter your card details on Chargily’s own payment page, and they never reach us. We receive and keep a record of each payment — the amount, what it paid for, and whether it succeeded — because it is an accounting record of money that changed hands.

Log files

benahmed.education follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

Cookies and web beacons

Like any other website, benahmed.education uses cookies. These cookies are used to store information including visitors’ preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users’ experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors’ browser type and/or other information.

Anonymous usage measurement

We record anonymous, aggregate information about how the website is used, so that we can tell whether the material we publish is actually being read. To do this we store a randomly generated identifier in your browser’s local storage.

Against that identifier we record only: which school level and stream the pages you opened belong to, how many lessons or exercises you opened, and the dates and times you were active. If you later sign in, the identifier is linked to your account so that we can tell how many visitors go on to create one.

We do not record your IP address, your location, the addresses of the pages you visit, the site you arrived from, or any information that identifies you personally. This information is not used for advertising and is not shared with or sold to anyone. It is kept for at most 400 days and then deleted.

This measurement is separate from, and additional to, the third-party analytics described below. You can erase the identifier at any time by clearing your browser’s site data; a new and unrelated identifier will be created the next time you visit.

Advertising and measurement

No advertising is shown on this website, and we do not sell space on it to ad networks. Two third-party services run on the website, and neither of them is part of any of our applications:

• Google Analytics, which reports how the website is used. It honours your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting, and we do not use it to build advertising audiences.
• The Meta (Facebook) pixel, which tells us whether the advertising we buy on Facebook and Instagram brings anyone to the site, and lets us show our own advertisements to people who have already visited it. This is the one thing on the website that feeds advertising. It runs in your browser, on this website only.

Both set cookies in your browser. You can refuse them in your browser’s settings or through its tracking-protection features, and the website works either way. What each company does with what it collects is governed by its own policy — Google and Meta.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account, and everything attached to it, yourself at benahmed.education/delete-account: sign in there with the same Google account and it is deleted immediately. You do not need to contact us. That page also explains what is kept and why.

Children’s information

An account requires you to be 13 or older. We publish material for middle-school levels as well as secondary ones, and lessons and exercise statements can be read without an account and without giving us anything at all — but creating an account on the website is for students aged 13 and over. A younger student should use a parent’s or guardian’s account.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe your child has created an account, write to us at support@benahmed.education and we will delete it, and everything attached to it, without asking you to prove anything beyond your connection to the child.

We encourage parents and guardians to take an interest in what their children do online, here and everywhere else.

CCPA privacy rights (Do Not Sell My Personal Information)

Under the CCPA, among other rights, California consumers have the right to:

Request that a business that collects a consumer’s personal data disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal data that a business has collected about consumers.

Request that a business delete any personal data about the consumer that a business has collected.

Request that a business that sells a consumer’s personal data, not sell the consumer’s personal data.

If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us.

GDPR data protection rights

We would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

The right to access – You have the right to request copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.

The right to rectification – You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request that we complete the information you believe is incomplete.

The right to erasure – You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to data portability – You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
